Assistance with Reasonable Accommodations and Modifications

The program staff has assisted individuals with disabilities in requesting and receiving their needed reasonable accommodations and modifications.  With our help, most of our clients obtain these requests without filing a complaint or going to court.

Assistance and Legal Representation before HUD and OCRC

When someone’s rights have been violated by a housing provider, our program is there to guide and represent the individual through the legal process.  As a project of Southeastern Ohio Legal Services, the Appalachian Ohio Fair Housing Center is staffed by attorneys.  This allows the program not only to file complaints with HUD and OCRC, but to fully represent the individual at all stages of the process.

Legal Representation before State and Federal Court

There are times when the action taken against the victim is so severe that a complaint is filed with the local state or federal court.  The program provides free legal representation to anyone qualifying for services through SEOLS.
